This blog series was launched during the national lockdown of 2020. Here is what we said at the time:
Like a lot of you are the moment, we aren’t doing an awful lot. Lockdown has us all stuck at home, and away from the museums, galleries, exhibitions, and so on that we so love visiting. But, that does not mean there isn’t anymore history to uncover!
We are bringing to you a series of short blog posts about local history, but when we say local… we really mean it. With the government currently suggesting the people of England only leave their homes for up to an hour a day for excercise, we have challenged ourselves to find history on our doorsteps. All our blog posts are stories found fifteen minutes or less from our door. We promise you, each blog post we provide has been uncovered on a daily walk, run, or bike ride in the local area.
